Skills

I consider myself a multi-faceted person, and have skills in a wide variety of areas.

I write code. I'm currently most familar with Python, Rust, C++, and Java, in that order.

I administrate systems. I'm familiar with the nitty-gritty details of 5 major operating systems, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS (I plan on making that 6 as I familiarize myself better with the BSDs). I'm a proud Linux user wherever possible, and love pushing the limits of what I can do with my devices, but also my understanding of how they work internally.

I solve problems. I pride myself on my ability to tackle challenges confidently, being able to effectively identify and analyze how systems can improve, quickly pick up new skills, and build out solutions that do more than "just work".

I educate and communicate. While my chosen career path is in cybersecurity, I'm just as passionate about education and sharing knowledge. Years of educating my peers as a volunteer, from presenting at the US Science and Engineering Festival, to operating booths with interactive science demonstations, to tutoring students in math, have all instilled a value for what it takes to not only learn, but to also teach others. I built up my education and communication skillsets working as a STEM Educator, and continue to integrate the idea of sharing my knowledge into my everyday life.
